The biggest change - it's all in the name!
There have been some big changes that have taken place across Alternatots, Alterna-active and Alternadolls recently, and one of the biggest is our name change. In case you haven’t noticed for a while now we have been slowly changing things over so that we are trading under the name ‘Alternawear’ instead.
You may have noticed a change over the past year in the items we have been offering. We feel that to continue growing our business that we will change to selling both adults, children’s and baby clothing, accessories and home wear instead of focusing on just children’s.
Why our name has changed?
When we started the options for buying alternative baby and kids clothing were very small and it made sense to target this area of the market, now you guys are literally spoilt for choice and there are so many gorgeous options around, including the ones that we still produce - you heard us correctly we are not leaving this space just creating a bigger one with a much wider range of items for a larger audience to be unique!
This is due recent sales activity, which that has been attracting new customers, with our offering of accessories (handbags, umbrellas and travel bags) as well as adults clothing, all proving to be poplar. This is in addition to our alternative active wear brand ‘Alterna-active’ so it makes sense for us to combined them into a single entity rather than trying to split our focus on the individual brands, therefore we updated our name 'Alternawear' to reflect this.
Looking to the future
As a brand we want to continue operating with sustainability in mind, so our items will remain being made to order, this enables us to change our designs frequently and stops over production which often ends up with items in landfill.
Of course it goes without saying that we will still be sticking to our roots in terms of our designs, with punk, rockabilly, tattoo, as well as witchy celestial and gothic inspired clothing and accessories for everyone.
